Okay, so, I'm catching up to this season of Bones because I am way, way behind, and so right now I'm watching episode 5, the one with the mummy? And Booth says, direct quote, "Not everyone winds up dead."

Um. Yes. Yes, in fact, they do.

I never thought I'd say it, but this line is actually worse than Bo Duke Jonathan Kent's "Cows don't feed themselves."

I may have taken my medication twice this morning. This is one of the drawbacks to using Pavlovian conditioning to train myself that I need to put a pill in my mouth when the alarm goes off and I get up.

I did not get up when my alarm went off at 7:30. I got up at 9. I may have taken a pill at 7:30 and I definitely took one at 9.

I feel a little more jittery than usual, but that may be A) psychosomatic or B) due to the fact that most of what I've eaten so far today is a bunch of donuts. (I had a vivid, detailed dream about donuts so I went and got some as soon as I got up; I was powerless to resist their sugary allure.) My pulse isn't crazy-fast or anything, so I figure I'm probably okay.

I should, however, not make a habit of doing this, and if I just stick to my sleep schedule I won't have to.

I did something bad the other day, you see. Well, for the past couple days, actually. I screwed up my routine; it's very important to have a routine when you have AD/HD, or you won't get anything done.

So, it must have been Wednesday when I stayed up until 1 or 2. I got sucked into WoW and stayed up a little later than usual, and since Nigel was still up1, I figured I was okay. Little did I know, he'd been staying up ridiculously late recently; anyway, I had planned to get to bed at 11 or 12 instead of my usual "by 10:30", and I lost track of time in the game and it was about 2 when I went to bed.

And then I still got up at 7:30, because on weekdays I get up at 7:30 come hell or high water because The West Wing comes on at 8.

So that evening, I took a shower at about 6:30, and was tired, and dozed off for a little while on the bed in the course of trying to find clean underwear and stuff. "A little while" turned into "until 11 at night"2, and then I stayed up all night until, like, 7:00 in the morning, and went to bed for half an hour, and then got up yesterday morning to watch The West Wing and clean up part of the living room in preparation for the fire marshall to come in and inspect.

I was loopy yesterday, as you can probably imagine. Half an hour of sleep is not enough for anyone, obviously. So last night I went to bed at 8, and I slept until 9. So I'm all rested again, but my pill-taking routine was split up this morning because I didn't get up when my alarm went off, so the two things I'm conditioned to see as indicators that it's time to take my meds happened at different times. Which may have thrown me off.

And I don't know if I took two pills or not! Which is bad! I have to make sure my routine stays constant so this doesn't happen again. No more staying up "a little late" to play WoW no matter how many dailies I haven't finished. In fact, I'm calling this one on the spot: no more playing WoW at that time of night anyway, because I play on Khaz'goroth and 10 or 11 at night here is noon or 1 in game, and that means I can't get anything done anyway because I'm lagged all to hell from playing on a full server during a peak time. Especially on the weekends.

Except I may have to stay up special occasionally to try to win the Stranglethorn Fishing Extravaganza, in order to someday get the Salty title. Depending on how much I decide I want that and whether I decide it's worth it, considering I don't have a huge chance to be able to win the thing anyway.

1. Long ago, in the mists of time, back in March or April, Nigel used to go to bed before me. For a while there he was going to bed at 11 or midnight, and I woudl stay up until 6 or 7; this was because A) I was not really trying to form any kind of routine to be able to take my meds and B) he had class during the day. He is no longer on that kind of schedule. I used to like staying up later than he did because I could get some peace and quiet to pursue my various hobbies; I like getting up before he does because it's all peaceful and morning-y, and is more energizing with the sunlight coming in the windows than it was sitting in a pool of feeble light from the lamp on top of my desk at three in the morning. But the point is, on that particular night it was even dumber than usual of me to assume that "Nigel is still awake" was any kind of an indicator that it wasn't too late yet, because he stayed up all that night and the next day. He didn't go to bed until midnight the following night.
2. Which also meant I had missed this week's episode of Bones, which pissed me off. But I was able to watch it yesterday, so that was all right. (And let me say that I love it when shows do the "AU fanfic episode" thing; but I hate it when one of the characters gets amnesia. Fuck you, Bones. Don't pull this shit on me.) (But--Zach! Yaaaaaaaaaaaay...)

How come TWoP lists Bones as being on permanent hiatus and only having had 4 episodes? It's in season 4 now, kids, and is moving to Thursdays in January. ([ profile] bloodchan, I think it's on its winter break right now. Looks like new episodes start on Jan. 15.) Do they just mean their recaps of it are on permanent hiatus? Because it looks like they went in expecting the show to be about Booth and wanting the Angel fen to get into it, but in my experience the Angel fen generally can't see Boreanaz as anyone but Angel, and Booth is pretty much nothing like Angel, not to mention the reason to watch this show is totally the squints and Angela. (Mostly Angela. Angela is totally hot.) I don't know. Maybe it's because I found Angel (the character) kind of whiny and annoying, and Angel (the show) not really worth watching except when Doyle and then Spike were on it? Like, I can separate these things in my head and other Buffyverse fen cannot? Or something.
